Wood Air Fresheners

Got some ASIC-dried cherry wood from Woodminer to start producing my own wood car air fresheners. Sanded & sealed them today.

They will be ready next week for engraving, gluing magnets to the back, then infusing with fragrance oil. The back of the wood isn't sealed, as that's where the oil will diffuse from. It should result in a slow and steady diffusion, making them last a lot longer than Drift air fresheners and be less overpowering at the beginning.

Engraved the front of my test piece after the oil set. Attached magnets to the back with some JB Weld epoxy (for hot car temps, so magnets don't detach).

Assembled by new vacuum chamber. Added fragrance oil cut with 30% coconut oil.

Place the wood in the oil and pull a vacuum of -25-29 inHg. Let it sit for 30min while the vacuum pulls the air out of the wood. Then slowly release the vacuum. This allows the wood to expand and suck up the oil.

Let them sit out for a day so the oils can evenly distribute through the wood, then ready for the car.
